Sue McVey
Menu and Catering Skills Officer, Food for Life Scotland
Sue joined the Soil Association in May 2018 as the Menu and Catering Skills Officer, responsible for supporting both new local authorities starting their Food for Life journey and existing Food for Life Served Here award holders across Scotland.
Sue has 15 years’ experience working in a product and menu development capacity in food manufacturing and large-scale catering environments in both the private retail and public sector. She recently worked for two years supporting the Home Economics team in a Scottish High School prior to completing a PgD in Public Health Nutrition, so is fully aware of the many challenges faced by local authority caterers.
Passionate to deliver good food for all, Sue is a keen gardener, growing lots of produce at home.
Sue can help local authority caterers with queries about menu compliance, how to creatively develop menus, nutrition and any food related questions that help deliver Food for Life certified school meals.
