After studying to be a geologist, Luke stumbled into organics as a summer job, getting a job packing vegetables at Riverford organic farmers in the year 2000. Luke enjoyed it so much he never left the business. Starting in operations, Luke progressed to operations director in 2010, before in 2019 becoming the supply chain and tech director which includes responsibilities for Riverford’s farming operations.

Riverford farms over three sites, mainly focussing on winter brassicas and summer salads.

Riverford have a 500-acre farm near Peterborough, a site near Winchester and around 400 acres around their site near Buckfastleigh in Devon, which includes a four acre tunnel operation growing tomatoes and cucumbers.
