Farmer and Grower Board Member

Anthony farms 450 acres with his wife Christine near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.

Crops include strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants.

With over 100 acres Soil Association organic blackcurrants, the business is the UK’s largest supplier into this specialised sector.

The farm grows around 2,100 tonnes of soft fruit with packing, freezing and processing facilities on site.
 
With the environment central to all farming activities the farm regularly hosts visitors for LEAF Open Farm Sunday.

Recent awards include ‘UK Soft Fruit Grower of The Year’ for 2016 and overall ‘Edible Grower of the Year’, 2015 winners in the National fruit Show (Driscoll Jubilee strawberries).

Anthony is a Director of Berry Gardens, Chairman of N.F.U. West Midlands Horticulture Board, member of the NFU Mutual regional Advisory Board, member of the Soil Association, Farmer and Grower Board, Vice President International Blackcurrant Association.
