Agroforestry on your croft or small farm
From January-March 2021, farmers and crofters from across Scotland have been producing videos for us on how they integrate trees into their farms and crofts.
Phil Knott of the Wildlife Croft, Skye, Mike Hyatt of Baleveolan Croft, Isle of Lismore, and James Reid of Tap o' Noth Farm, Aberdeenshire, share their experiences of:
- Benefits of agroforestry for crofting operations - food production, wood and fuel, shelter for crops and livestock
- How trees can support biodiversity and improve soil health
- How to plan, fund, establish and manage trees on your croft
- Challenges and how to tackle them
