New matching opportunities for land
A new programme has been launched to match entrepreneurs and land owners.
The Fresh Start Land Enterprise is funded by the Princes Countryside Fund and the Frank Parkinson Agricultural Trust and will draw together people looking for land and joint ventures, with business owners or land agents with an opportunity or land to offer.
Not only does this provide a matching service but the handbook contains really useful information on the choice of collaborative mechanisms available and help with working out which to choose for your particular circumstances.
The service is currently available in England and Wales, with Scotland hopefully coming into the service in due course. Initial registration is free with all subsequent fees heavily subsidised during the first year. To find out more and register for the service as either an entrepreneur or a land owner go to http://freshstartlandenterprise.org.uk/
Liz Bowles Head of Farming at the Soil Association commented that "This service has the potential to really unlock farmland and bring new entrants with new ideas into agriculture. The handbook contains really practical guidance on choice of business vehicle and case studies to illustrate what can be done"
