Become an agroforestry ambassador
What is an agroforestry ambassador?
Are you a farmer or advisor passionate about agroforestry and keen to have an impact?
At the Soil Association we are committed to supporting more trees in farming and know that hearing first hand from those directly involved is a powerful tool for change.
Our ambassador program showcases the knowledge and skill of agroforestry innovators. It is flexible and responsive; we work with farmers in whichever way suits your skills and preferences.
Here are a few ways you can be involved:
- Be a focus for our written case studies, blogs, podcasts, and videos.
- Get involved with our agroforestry networks, by attending, hosting or speaking at farm walks and webinars.
- Attend local and national farming events to share your own agroforestry experiences.
- Be one of our spokespeople for media interviews (TV, radio, online articles). We are frequently approached by journalists looking for a farmer voice.
Why should you be an ambassador?
- We pay an annual retainer of £500 to be a named agroforestry ambassador. Though you will not be tied to specific outcomes there is an expectation that you will be engaged and responsive.
- You get to build a closer relationship with our Farming and Land Use advisory team and our wide range of expertise from all sectors.
- You can build your profile and promote your farm business and expertise.
- We are building our wider Soil Association Ambassador programme so hope there will be further benefits on offer in due course (for example previous benefits including a media training course run by Just Farmers)
- Opportunity to take on further funded work under the ambassador brand, for instance co-ordinating learning networks or writing case studies.
- Finally, of course you can help us in our mission of increasing agroforestry in the UK.
