The BOOM Awards are back for 2025 - here's what's new

They’re back!

Soil Association Certification’s much anticipated Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Awards will return in 2025, with entries opening soon. The 2025 awards come with a suite of category changes, and brand-new assets to help winners shout about their success on pack and online.

Ocado are committed supporters of the organic movement and are already involved with the Soil Association charity on their joint Farm to Fork partnership, a ground-breaking project driving change in the food and farming system.  

Ocado’s sponsorship of the BOOMs is a natural fit for awards designed to champion organic retail, and we are excited to announce more details of the partnership soon.

We still have some additional sponsorship opportunities available for organic businesses who would like to boost their brand presence within the organic retail sector. Sponsors will be able to choose an award to present to winners on the night, boosting your brand’s category profile. So, what’s new for 2025? 

This year, we have streamlined the categories whilst upholding the high integrity of the awards and championing the best of what the sector has to offer. We therefore will no longer break categories down into subcategories, instead opening them out to create more meaningful, individual categories.  

For example: The old ‘Best of Organic Alcoholic Drinks’ (previously split into 4 x subcategories) becomes 4 x individual categories: 

• Best of organic wine 

• Best of organic beer 

• Best of organic cider 

• Best of organic spirits  

Winners will now be defined as Gold, Silver or Bronze Award Winners. We think this will clarify the win and make it easier for brands to communicate their wins with customers. Winners’ branding has a new look, making displaying on pack more effective than ever.

Furthermore, new ‘Organic for All’ awards will be launched for 2025. These awards will celebrate businesses who are specifically working to make organic valued, supported and available, in line with Soil Association’s Organic for All vision. These awards will be free to enter. 

 

Key dates for your diary 

The UK’s only organic awards, the BOOMs are robustly judged by independent sector experts, before finalists are invited to the glitzy summer awards ceremony. Entries open 2nd December until 1st February with free entries available to small Soil Association certified businesses.  

Judging takes place in Spring and finalists will attend our fun and glamorous awards ceremony in July 2025. Take advantage of the early bird discount to enter before the Christmas rush, sit back and wait to hear the results of the judging.
