How fixing our broken food system needs a holistic approach from the roots up.
In 2022, human-caused climate change continued to wreak devastation. From catastrophic floods in Pakistan, to unprecedented wildfires in the UK, the effects were impossible to ignore. And more people than ever before were taking notice. In August 2022, nearly three-quarters of UK adults recognised the link between climate change and human activity.
As sustainable choices become more important to consumers, it’s vital to highlight how food production drives climate change. But with lots of eco-positive brands and labels vying for attention, the sustainability space is a confusing place.
We’re privileged to work with a number of leading global charities and NGOs, including WWF, Fairtrade Foundation and The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). Like us, they take a holistic view of how we should be caring for our land and changing food and farming systems. We asked them to share where they see the biggest impact coming from for tackling climate change through the choices we make at the checkout.
