Woodland Carbon Code training courses
Soil Association Certification has seen a huge increase of interest in the Woodland Carbon Code and has developed a training course for Forest managers/ Land agents looking to develop projects.
This voluntary code encourages a consistent approach to woodland carbon projects in the UK. Backed by the government, the forest industry and carbon market experts, the Code is unique in providing accredited woodland carbon units in the United Kingdom. It is recognised by the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA).
Woodland Carbon Code course objective
This one-day workshop provides an overview of getting a Woodland Carbon Code project verified.
The workshop covers the documents and procedures required for successful submission of a project or group for validation - the initial evaluation of a project or group against the requirements of the Woodland Carbon Code; delivered by Soil Association Certification, a body accredited by the UK Accreditation Service.
Please note that as of 1st October 2022, all projects and groups submitted for validation will be audited against version 2.2 of the Woodland Carbon Code standard. This course will solely focus on ensuring compliance with version 2.2 code requirements, however previous attendees shouldn’t need to complete the course again.
It will be held online using Microsoft Teams.
