Management plans
Management plans for farmers and growers
Management plans are required before you add any livestock or crop enterprises to your farm certification.
After we approve your application and receive the payment for the application fee, we look at your planned organic management system. You need to complete a management plan when you apply and this should be kept up to date throughout your certification.
If it's your first inspection, one of our certification team will conduct a welcome call with you to discuss your organic systems and how to meet the certification requirements. Before your call we will ask you to complete either a crop and livestock management plan.
Download our templates below to help you complete your management plan.

Livestock management plans
Our Livestock Management Plans outline husbandry practices, such as breed details, daily routines of stock handlers, housing arrangements, biosecurity measures, feeding regimes, healthcare protocols, transportation and slaughter procedures.
You can download the template below and submit to the certification team when you are applying for organic certification and before introducing any new livestock enterprise or making management updates.
For beef, sheep, goats or dairy farmers certified under additional assurance/certification schemes (e.g. Red Tractor, Farm Assured Welsh Livestock, or Quality Meat Scotland), you may submit your Herd Health Plan or Flock Health Plan with our Annex for Organic Livestock Farm Assurance Producers to cover organic requirements.

Crop management plan
If you are a grower, use our Crop Management Plan to outline your strategies for soil and plant protection. This includes details about your selection of soil conditioners, fertilisers, plant protection products, and methods of application.
You can download the template below and submit this to the certification team before initiating any crop production enterprise, such as plant raising, horticulture or arable, or before making management updates.
