The Soil Association’s Sourcing Organic Ingredients Annex has been updated to version 1.9. This has been updated to reflect the changes to poultry standards (3.12.3 and 3.12.17).
Update to Soil Association organic standards for Aquaculture
The Soil Association standards for aquaculture have been updated to:
-
align our aquaculture standards with leading organic standard-setters in Europe
-
adopt developments in the EU organic regulations into our standards in Great Britain
-
enforce recent recommendations made by the UK government’s Animal Welfare Committee
These changes are line with best practice, following an extensive public consultation which took place earlier this year.
