Amendments to the EU regulation which will apply in Northern Ireland

The European commission have published updates to Annex I , Annex II, Annex III and Annex IV of implementing regulation (EU) 2021/1165.

These updates include amendments and authorisation of certain products and substances for use in organic production which affect crop production, livestock feeds and food production.

The changes came into effect from 17th January 2023.

These changes apply to the Organic standards for Northern Ireland. This standard will be updated to reflect these changes when the next version is published.

Where the changes are to allow new products, substances or practices, these may not be applied in Soil Association Standards for Northern Ireland and may require further consultation before they are added to the Soil Association standards.
