ECOA Update

Further to our communication that the Egyptian certifier, Egyptian Centre of Organic Agriculture (ECOA), have had their accreditation suspended, we have some new information.

It appears that ECOA are currently still issuing certificates of inspection (COI) to import product to the EU. Defra have confirmed that ECOA are still listed on the EU TRACES NT system as an approved certification body.

We understand that ECOA certified product are currently being imported into the EU with COIs and that you can accept them as organic product.
