Helen Browning talks on FT podcast
Can farming thrive without chemicals?
This week, Chief Executive of the Soil Association, Helen Browning is a guest speaker on the Financial Times News in Focus podcast.
Helen, alongside Adam Speed of the Crop Protection Association and Andrew Diprose, Chief Executive of Rootwave, debate the use of chemicals in farming and whether or not we will ever find something that is truly safe for human health and the environment.
Helen argues that there is a long history of the negative impacts of chemicals in farming and that we need to step off the chemical treadmill and rethink our food and farming systems.
Adam disagrees and contests the research on the harmful impacts of glyphosate whilst Andrew believes to have new innovative technology to eletrocute weeds sustainably and organically.
