Ryder Cup - One year to go celebration

14 October 2013

Francesco and Joe from Soil Association Scotland recently took part in an event at Perth Concert Hall called “Ryder Cup 2014 – One Year to Go.”

As part of the event, the Soil Association Scotland team showcased Scottish producers to over 1000 delegates by creating a “Scottish Organic Canapé” using all organic, Scottish and seasonal produce.

The canape included oatcakes from the Engine Shed in Edinburgh, Chutney from Huntly Herbs in Aberdeenshire, salad leaves and flowers from Pillars of Hercules in Fife, butter from Grahams Dairy in Stirlingshire, fillet of beef from Hugh Grierson Organics in Perthshire and chorizo & salami from Peelham Farm in Berwickshire.

On receiving a canapé, each person was given a leaflet showing how to buy the produce direct from the producers, as well as information about our work in Scotland.
