Press Comment: £60m now on the table to improve food

Good food culture in England had a welcome boost this week, with the announcement of free school meals for infants from next September. This could have a transformative effect – on health, morale, attention and culture in schools – but it is important that parents are reassured there will be no compromise on quality. 

So the big question now is, what’s in store for children living North of the Border? The effects of this announcement in Scotland are yet to be determined.  We do know there is potentially £60 million of money coming from Westminster that we weren’t expecting, so how do we best spend it?
