Soil Association Scotland invites you to an introduction to AssureWel, a collaborative initiative between Soil Association, RSPCA and Bristol University which is developing a practical system of welfare outcome assessment for the major farm animal species. The AssureWel outcome measures are used in Soil Association Organic and RSPCA Freedom Food inspections and AssureWel is successfully working with farm assurance schemes and farmers to establish the wide adoption of this approach to assessing good animal husbandry. This event will include an introduction, history and review of the work to date including the processes that have been involved and achievements so far. The day will conclude with an interactive session on welfare outcome measures.
