How to find us

South Plaza, which is a modern building with a glass atrium, is in the centre of Bristol. It is close to Broadmead shopping centre and on the north side of St James Barton roundabout. If you are approaching on foot from Temple Meads station or the city centre, cross through the underpass at the roundabout and take the exit to Kingsdown/Gloucester Road. This will bring you out next to the entrance to South Plaza, which has steps leading up to the main entrance. If you are coming from the bus station, walk up Marlborough Street towards St James Barton Roundabout and the entrance to South Plaza is on your left.

By train

South Plaza is a 25 minute walk from Temple Meads station. The pedestrian route takes you via Victoria St, Castle Park, Union St and then under St James Barton roundabout.

By bus

The bus station is a short walk from South Plaza. Many of Bristol's buses pass through or terminate at the bus station.

By bike

We also have plenty of bike racks for those that wish to travel by bicycle. The cycling route from Temple Meads is indicated on the map below. The roundabout just in front of South Plaza can get very busy, although it is controlled by traffic lights. You may prefer to walk your bike under the roundabout. On your return to the station, note that Union Street is one way, so either walk up to Wine Street or cycle through Broadmead (beware of pedestrians!).

By taxi

From Temple Meads a taxi will cost £6–£8.

Parking at South Plaza

We have limited parking spaces, so please call beforehand to book a space (if available). Please note that you will not be able to access the car park without prebooking. The car park is located at the rear of South Plaza, located by coming off St James Barton roundabout, under the '51˚2' building which bridges the road overhead, along North Street on the A38. Then take the second left onto King Square Avenue, by Mickleburghs music shop. Then first left onto Charles Street and then next left onto Barton Street which turns into Cherry Lane. The entrance to the car park is tucked in on your right, down a ramp, between the railings and the building. There are a number of one way streets around this area, so this route is the easiest one to use.

Alternative parking provision

If the South Plaza car park is full we recommend using the Cabot Circus car park which is a five minute walk from South Plaza and easily accessible from the end of the M32. Cabot Circus is a cheaper alternative than the St James Barton NCP car park, a three minute walk away.
