Food for Life Development Officer

Fixed term contract for 1 year

22.5 hours per week

£15,095 (0.6 FTE £25,158)

Cairngorms National Park Authority Office Grantown-on-Spey/Ballater or home based

 

Soil Association Scotland and the Cairngorms National Park Authority are entering the final year of their three-year Cairngorms Food for Life Development Plan to help develop food and drink in the area. A key area of delivery relates to schools and communities and Soil Association Scotland are now recruiting for a Food for Life Development Officer to further develop, deliver and manage this aspect of the project.

 

The successful candidate will focus on increasing local communities and children’s understanding of the connections between food, health and the environment as well as increasing understanding of the importance of eating local and sustainable food and giving people the skills, knowledge and confidence to grow and cook their own food. You will support the production of, and access to, affordable, local and sustainable food and will develop the legacy of the project to ensure the continuation of activity at the end of the three years.
