
Crofting Connections Project Officer

Crofting Connections is an educational project working with schools and communities throughout the Highlands & Islands to enable children and young people to learn about crofting past, present and future and promote crofting as an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible system for land-use and local food production.
This is new post which will help to develop and manage phase 2 of the project by engaging new schools and communities. The post holder will have a good knowledge of crofting, experience of working with schools and community groups, and of managing administrative and financial systems. Experience of delivering events and working with websites would be an advantage, as would knowledge of Gaelic language and culture.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, who is able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. They will have excellent administration, communication and interpersonal skills and be highly numerate.
The post is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Government.
