Spend a day at Commonwork this Spring

This is the first of our relaunched Seasonal Days which include activities for all ages so there is something for everyone. Gather friends and family for a morning activity followed by a delicious lunch prepared using produce from our own farm and gardens and supplemented by local, organic and fairly traded ingredients.

How does it work? Activities are booked on a first come, first served basis. You choose your session, download and complete a booking form here (word docx) and return it with your payment.

Arrive at 10.30am for tea/coffee with the activity sessions running from 11am-1pm and then lunch from 1-2pm.

Here's what's on offer:

  • Family crafts: age 2 - adult  A carousel of crafty activities the whole family can enjoy together! Includes sewing cards, dream catchers, pom-pom birds, paper daffodils, spoon bugs and painted strawberry stones. 
  • All kinds of pancakes: age 4 - adult  Simple cooking that little ones can get stuck in (with a little help from mum or dad!). Make fluffy American pancakes, French crepes and Indian chapattis.
  • Make do and mend: age 8 - adult  Learn to make a pretty hexagonal flower patch using the traditional ‘English paper piecing’ technique. The patch can be used to cover a ripped knee on your favourite jeans or just to decorate them!
  • Pond dipping and minibeast crafting: age 5 - adult  Find out about the creatures living in our ponds by having a really close look at them – then create your own minibeast to take home.
  • Spring cleaning: age 8 - adult   Make your own naturally scented organic soap and a decorative package for it, just perfect for a spring cleaning treat!
  • Seasonal cooking: age 8 - adult  Make some delicious seasonal treats to eat straight away or take home.

How much does it cost, and what’s included? £18 adult £9 child (up to 18yrs) Everything’s included – your refreshments when you arrive, your activity materials and your scrummy lunch!
